GDS Rule-3 Online Transfer Cycle, October 2025

With the rollout of IT 2.0, the online portal for transfer of GDS under ‘Limited Transfer Facility’ (Rule-3) shall be opened for submitting applications by GDSs and processing by the Divisions w.e.f. 21st of October, 2025. The Schedule of different activities would be as follows:

GDS Rule-3 Online Transfer Vacancy Updation by Divisions

Instructions have been issued to the Divisions to update the number of vacancies available in each office during the period from 21st October 2025 to 27th October 2025. The vacancies in the offices shall be calculated on the basis of the following factors:

  • Discharge or voluntary discharge
  • Resignation
  • Absorption on departmental posts
  • Deputation to IPPB / APS

◈◈◈ Vacancies that are already in process under the GDS Online Engagement Schedule, 2025, or those kept reserved due to court cases, shall not be included.

▣▣▣ If a GDS has expired and no family member (next of kin) has been engaged against the said post within six months from the date of death, such vacancy shall also be considered for transfer.

GDS Rule-3 Transfer Online Application Through CEPT

All Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) employees who wish to apply for this transfer cycle are hereby informed that the entire transfer application process will be conducted online. In this process, you must first prioritize the offices where vacancies are available according to your preference. After that, a list will be published by the Department. If your name appears on that list, you will have to join the new office that you have been allotted through this transfer process.
